Johnson took Abraham Lincoln and changed it a little bit by removing the law of having 10 percent citizens in order to form a constitutional convention.
Black Code:
The black code was a law for freemen only, it was what stopped them from doing what the whole men did. Black people were not allowed to meet after sunset.
Vagrancy:
This law said that if freedom did not work, they would be slayed and they would be sold again as slaves.
Labor Contracts:
This was a contact that made the slaves work for one year and if they decided to quit in the middle of that year they would loose the money the made.
Land Restrictions:
This law said that the freed slaves could rent houses or lands in the countryside so that they would work in plantations.
14th and 15th amendments :
The fourteenth amendments said that all the citizens were equally protected. The fifteenth amendments said that all men (male) were allowed to vote.
Radical Construction:
The radical construction was a group of people that was against the black code and they tried to stop it since they thought that it was too jarring.
Carpetbagger:
Carpetbagger was a rude nickname given to the Republicans of the north who moved to the south after the war.
Scalawag:
An other rude byname given to the Republicans of the South after the war
